anime

my preferred type of digital art is a Japanese style of drawing called anime or manga.
anime is the animated version of manga. anime started in the 20th century.  The oldest known anime in existence first screened in 1917 – a two-minute clip of a samurai trying to test a new sword on his target, only to suffer defeat. The first anime with sound was Chikara to Onna no Yo no Naka, produced by Masaoka in 1933.
The first proper full length anime film was momotaro's divine sea warriors directed by Seo in 1945 with sponsorship by the imperial Japanese navy. the success of the Disney film 'snow white and the seven dwarfs' influenced Japanese animators.
in the 1970's there was a big growth in the popularity of manga and some were later animated. The work of osamu tezuka. influenced today's style of anime.

the art style Ukiyo-e that had come much earlier than anime has influence some earlier versions of anime for example divine sea warriors have a very similar anatomy style.it is similar because they have relatively the same head structure. i also think that Ukiyo-e still shows some influence in pictures draw now as the use of traditional Japanese clothing and Japanese style backgrounds are still used. i also think that the western animations influenced the style of anime. my reasoning for this assumption is because in snow white some of the charachteristics that you find in anime today for example the pointed chin are shown in snow white. the chin isnt quite as pointed as anime.

anime has had a influense for some fashions that are used today. for example oshare kei and visual kei are influenced by the crazy hair styles and colour some anime characters have. these styles also show an anime influence because of the way that they try to make their eyes look bigger and/ or make their eyes be a strage or unatural colour. and the whole focus on anime nowere days is about their eyes being big.

anime also has worked its way into the music industry with the use of vocaloid. vocaloid is a computor system that uses recordings of the Japanese phonetic alphabet to create songs and they then represent this voice with an anime character. they have a character for each voice they create. they also have conserts were they prodgect a 3d image onto a sheat of glass so that it seams they are there. a bit similar to one of gorillaz concerts.

anime is part of allot of other industrys for example there are allot of anime merchendise that has been created. like bags, figurines and anime sometimes even makes it's way onto cars.
there are allot of games that have anime in them. like the 'tales of' series are an anime game with 3d incorporated. but there are other types of games that have anime in them for instance dating sims that are popular in japan are made up of anime stills with some simple animations on them and you have multiple answere questions. aquare enix is a game companie that with their characters from the 'final fantasy' series are influenced by anime. the influense isnt a grate deal but it is there for example the crazy hair styles and the eye shapes of the character. their eyes arent as big as anime characters but you can tell that there is some resemblence

history of drawing

the very first drawings were from cavemen in prehistoric times. they were very limited in detail and were made from very simple shapes. there were only ever two colours used ; black and brown. but they were noticeable as to what they were. their drawings were made to tell story's as they didn't have an alphabet yet.
and they were always found on walls.
later drawing developed and there were more colours used. their drawing style changed and they had more
detailed pictures. also they had developed a type of paper called papyrus this made it easier to pass on the information because it could be stored and looked after. they started to develop their own type of alphabet so pictures weren't use as much as the prehistoric times to tell story as they could just wright it.
then when we get to the roman times the drawings obtained allot of detail and tones of different colours. in this era they also started to use shading and lighting in their pictures. the people were very detailed and were realistically drawn. this was drawn on a canvas as they developed something better that papyrus. there are no words on this drawing as they no longer used drawings to tell story's or information because they had a fully developed alphabet that was used in allot of places
soon people started to just draw for work or hobby. and because the drawings were no longer needed for telling stories they could be made to look as strange as they like to capture peoples attention for selling purposes. or the artist could just let their imagination flow and because of this Meny drawing styles were created e.g abstract, surrealism, cartoon, fantasy and many more

Net Art 1994-1998

then with the development of technology we were able to create digital drawings. this led to a development of different art styles for example  net art, digital installation art and virtual reality. digital drawing helped create images that looked almost realistic.
